OWA 2010 options not showing up and error 403 on archive explorer and search

when I click on archive explorer from OWA I get a 403 error. I can retrieve archived mail from owa and everything works perfectly from Outlook 2010. I know it's something to do with http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH139431 however I still can't get it working. I have rerun the owauser.wsf script and checked the webconfig settings. The issue seems to be around this point •When a genuine SSL Certificate is in use: Ensure that the following Key and Value pair is present in the Application Settings of the OWA virtual directory on the CAS server(s) (for details on adding the value see the related article 'TECH141519'): EnterpriseVault_ExchangeWebServicesUrl https://FQDNofCAS/ews/exchange.asmx The values 'FQDNofCAS' should be one of the values that is configured within the SSL Certificate.

In this situation, calls to the Exchange mailbox Server are being made via HTTP (port 80).  This error will occur if the internal Default Web Site on the Exchange mailbox Server is set to use SSL.  Under normal circumstances, the Internal Server does not require SSL and must be disabled.

Also check the webdavrequesthost value assigned in the web.config file as it might have some invalid URL.

managed to resolve this updated webconfig to EnterpriseVault_EnableExtensionsInOwaAuthClient set to TRUE - default if the setting is not there is false also my cert only had the external name so i had to also set EnterpriseVault_ExchangeWebServicesUrl https://FQDNofCAS/ews/exchange.asmx The values 'FQDNofCAS' should be one of the values that is configured within the SSL Certificate Question on something similar. Does EV9 and OWA 2010 support client connections proxied through CAS 2010 the documentation mentions "In an Exchange Server 2007 or later environment, OWA clients always attempt to contact the Enterprise Vault server directly for Archive Explorer and archive search requests, irrespective of the value of this setting. By default, Outlook Anywhere clients always attempt to contact the Enterprise Vault server directly for all Enterprise Vault requests. In an Exchange Server 2007 or later environment, Use proxy has the following effect: OWA clients continue to contact the Enterprise Vault server directly for Archive Explorer and archive search requests, irrespective of the value of the setting. Outlook Anywhere clients first attempt to connect to the default Enterprise Vault Web server. If the URL cannot be contacted, then the clients attempt to contact an Enterprise Vault proxy server using the RPC over HTTP proxy URL configured in the advanced Outlook settings in the desktop policy. The Enterprise Vault proxy server routes the requests to the Enterprise Vault server that hosts the archive. Supported values Use proxy (default) Direct Legacy name OWAClientUseDirectConnection" how abt owa 2010 /cas 2010/ev9.01? i've got an f5 firewall and load balancer ..do i need to configure anything special to get ev to work with cas in this environment.

Good thats resolved .If you are using a firewall  you need to ensure that both the Exchange CAS server and Enterprise Vault server Web server URL are published to clientsrefer http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH63250.
