Old MSMQ's, can be deleted?

Hi folks,

We have 2x application servers, 1 for exchange, 1 for FSA (EV8sp3). We had a failure in our exhange application server, so had to fail all the tasks over to our FSA one. Exchange one was down for a few days, and then we transferred everything back.

However, while the Exchange tasks were on the FSA one, they created a load of MSMQ's - where this server never had any before. These arent changing, and havent moved in a number of weeks. Im sure its ok, but just to confirm - am I ok to delete these? Anything need to be brought down prior?

Queues with items are generally A5 (or P5 - public folder), with a couple in A4's

Thanks

Yup its fine to delete them.

A5 is scheduled archiving so you wont miss out here, and I think you can dlete Q's with items in them. A4 is retries so blast them too.

Hi Ian,

Set the archiving tasks in report mode, make sure the queues are empty.

When empty, stop all ev-services.

Delete the queues

Start the services again. Required queues will be recreated.
