1)Is the user's mailbox enabled for archiving?
(If yes) Do the toolbar icons show up?

2)Check that the EV server is added to the "Local Intranet" Zone on the client pc.

Thanks Emmett. The user's mailbox is enabled and I can see the toolbar icons.

You mean add the EV site alias to Local Intranet Zone? or the just the server name?

Regarding the EV tab on Mailbox/folder properties:

Which client is installed? The lite or the full? (You can check by going to Help --> About Enterprise Vault. The version will end with HTTP (lite) or DCOM (full) ) The lite client does not give you that functionality.

Regarding the prompt for credentials:

You should add the server and the site name (both the aliases and the fully qualified names).

You can find out which exact name it is using by going to the Site properties in the EV admin console and looking at the default webapp url. You can also check in Outlook by going to Help --> About Enterprise Vault --> Tech Info. You should see an entry for DEFAULTWEBAPPURL.

In addition to Emmett's suggestions, you need to ensure that the "Folder properties visible" setting in Desktop is true.

Thanks Steve. I was install the client setup file called "EVClient60M.MSI". My client version show is 6.0.2.7791.0.http. Is it the full version?

About the prompt issue, it was fixed by using your method. Many thanks.

That is the lite version, that is why it has http in it.

Thanks Tony. Where can I find the full version? I can't found it in EV cd-rom.

"EVClient60m.msi" isn't the full client version?

EVClient60m.msi is the Full version install. However you may want to check your mailbox policy. You can set an option in there that tells the Full Client to act as a lite client.

From the Advanced tab of the Mailbox policy, List Settings from "Desktop". Look for the "Self-Install functions" setting and see what it says. If it is set to On, then the client will work as the Lite client and you will see the http instead of dcom on the client version.

If the setting is not set to on, you may want to try re-installing again on the client.

Hope that helps.
