PST Locator task - NetAppHomeMap

Hello,

A customer needs to locate PST files that were on a netapp filer. PST files are opened in Outlook through a drive X:\ mapped to \\netapp-filer\%username%

Unfortunately, PST Locator task failed to translate share name X:\ to UNC.

I've found http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130826 with NetAppHomeMap registry configuration... but made no changes.

Have you ever set up this registry ? There is not much information out there (in registry_values.pdf for example)

A part of DTrace log:

I read the TN to say that it

I read the TN to say that it should be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Agents\NetAppHomeMap with the NetApp as the name of the String value.

Sorry for the late reply, did

Sorry for the late reply, did you configure the Registry keys?  If yes, what did you enter as the String Value?

I entered Netapp Filer Active

I entered Netapp Filer Active Directory account as the string name, this is the key export:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Agents\NetAppHomeMap]
"NetApp-Bleu"="HomeDir1g;HomeDir5g"

Where:
NetApp-Bleu => Name of the AD account for NetApp Filer
HomeDir1g and HomeDir5g => network shares on Netapp

Next, EV admin service had been restarded but no changes.

I also tried with "," as a delimiter.

The version of EV server is 11.0.1 (without cumlative hotfix) and is on a Windows 2012 R2.

Thanks for your help.

Can the VSA access those

Can the VSA access those shares?

Engineering, Finance and Marketing must be shared and accessible to the Vault Service Account (VSA). Add the three share names, in a semi-colon separated list, to the filer_name entry under the NetAppHomeMap key.

Yes, VSA has access to those

Yes, VSA has access to those shares (full control).

We gave it full access in order to be able to locate, collect and migrate PST files from NetApp mapped drives through server tasks.

From the "registry values" documentation, should it be a string as below ?

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Agents]
"NetAppHomeMap"
="HomeDir1g;HomeDir5g"

It is not clear because information is a bit different between TECH130826 and "Registry Values.pdf" from product documentations...

i just read the technote as

i just read the technote as well. it says to create a key under Agents called NetAppHomeMap. then under that key create a string value and name it the name of your filer. then double click it and for the value put the names of the directories. last, restart the EV services.
