PST import is unable to connect archive to users

Hi,

I am currently setting up a new EV installation for a customer.
They had a previous installation running in Vmware that did not work to well.
From the old EV installation, all archives where exportet out to PST files on a local drive.

When finding PST files, the task is not able to connect a users archive to the PST files. Any one seen this and know of a way to make it happen?

Thank you :)

Kenneth,

Are the cfg files there with the PST files?  Enterprise Vault creates a cfg file for each PST with all the users relevant data.  If you copied the PST files some ware make sure the cfgs went with them.

If they are with the PSTs it would be useful to verify that the relevant information is in them, then run a trace on imports

Yes the CFG files is there. I will have to look in the cfg file to verify that information in them is ok.
I just to ask. Does a user need to be enabled for archiving for the PST import to connect the user? ( I do expect that they have to )
If yes must I then run the locator task again on the PST files, or delete the from "files" enable al the users and the rerun collector task for the task to connect them?

PST locator task was run with only  a few selected users enabled.

Thank you :)

Hi Kenneth,

Yes the user needs to be enabled.  No you should not need to run the PST Locator.  How are you doing the import? PST Wizard driven?

During the test  I've only done it manually selecting PST locator task for search for domain, and computers and files.
Reason for doing it this way is that the customer host exchange for 2 different companies. And both companies have their own Provisioning group, Own Vault store and partitions and so on. So I need the collector and EV to be able to connect the dots for me here..
