Permission Browser shows null characters

Hello everyone,

I'm having a strange issue here wherein one of my end users is naming the outlook folders in japanese language and when I view those folder permissions on EV server using permissionbrowser.exe, I see ?????? there instead of the folder name. At client end, there is no challenges though. Is it something that should go away If I install Japanese Language Pack on EV server or is it something else I'm missing?

My EV version is 9.0.4 and clients are using outlook 2010 on Windows 7 on some machines, and XP Pro on others.

Any help will be appreciated !!

I think it should be Japanese language pack, what do you see in Archive Explorer?

Hi,

Is there any item is archived in that folder in outlook.

Also Run the following SQL query and check How many NULL for ParentFolderRootIdentity. Whether it return the above folder name as result.

USE EnterpriseVaultDirectory
 

SELECT * from ArchiveFolderView
 

WHERE ArchiveVEID = 'UserArchiveID'

  AND ParentFolderRootIdentity IS NULL
