Previously archieved items not being archieved again

Hi,

Have a few users which have been archieved with version 8.0.4, as we were only running in pilot when 901 came out i decided to simply export the archieved items back into the mailbox, and then install the new EV 901 servers, re-archieve the mailboxes.

however the new mailboxes are not being archieved, allthough the process runs fine. newly added users are being archieved just fine, so i expect it to be due to a property on the individual e-mails.

Is there a way to disregard this, and force an archieval of the items anyway ?.

br & thank you

yeah you need to use IgnoreEVDates registry key set to 2

HKLM\Software\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Agents
IgnoreEVDates

0 = Off
1 = Ignore Archived date
2 = Ignore Restored date
3 = Ignore both Archived and Restored date

Afterwards, restart the mailbox archiving task and re-run the archiving

JW2 is right.

When the items are exported / restored back to the mailbox, they have an additional attribute added to them "Restored Date".  This is used in future calculations relating to archiving... unless you use the registry key mentioned above.

Hi,

Having done the registry entry (and server rebooted (due to patches) i started the archieving process again, but it still does not work.

Looking at the Mailbox Archiving report, i see that the users in question have a lot of "No. of failed updates" (most likely one for each mail that should be archived).

is there a log somewhere that indications why these fail ?.

You have two options :-

a/ DTRACE the Archiving Task.. it'll tell you why each message is or isn't eligible.

b/ Look in the event log on the EV server.  There might be something unrelated stopping these items from archiving (and nothing to do with the dates)
