Hi,

I have four EV servers and want to access Archive Explorer, Search vault and outlook anywhere users like  to access archives from home.

https:\\EVServer1.example.com\EnterpriseVault

https:\\EVServer2.example.com\EnterpriseVault

https:\\EVServer3.example.com\EnterpriseVault

https:\\EVServer4.example.com\EnterpriseVault

OWA URLS – https:\\domain.example.com\owa ( External URL )

Questions:

  1. Should I publish all four EV servers EV URLs on ISA 2006 servers or Should I publish only first EV servers which is hosts Directory Services?
  2. How does Archive explorer, Search Fault service request re-direct to respective EV servers?

Thanks

You would just publish the one server and then use that URL in your Desktop Policy for the RPC over HTTP URL. It doesn't matter if User A is on evserver1 or evserver2, each server can fulfill the requests of any other server Internally though the EV client will push it's requests to the server that hosts the vault store the user belongs to. But externally it doesn't matter You should check out this awesome blog post regarding ISA2006 and EV http://www.shudnow.net/2008/06/24/publishing-symantec-enterprise-vault-in-isa-2006/

Are you using Exchange Server 2003 / 2007 or 2010.

In Exchange Server 2007 / 2010, in order to make Archive Explorer and Search work, you need to make the Enterprise Vault servers accessible from the Outside.
