Re-enabling archiving for moved mailboxes.

Dear's,

We have a single EV 10 server which tragets both exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 servers.

Few mailboxes of exchange 2007 which were enabled for archiving have been moved to exchange 2013 servers. We want to re-enable archiving on those mailboxes without re-creating new archives .

Please suggest how to achieve this.

Regards,

As mailboxes have already been moved you would follow the steps in my first post.

When you enable them choose their existing archive.  There will be an option in the Enable Mailbox Wizard.

If it errors you might have to remove an entry from the ExchangeMailboxEntry table for that user, rerun provisioning and synchronization and then re-enable.

Hi Danish,

This technote has all the steps to move archive-enabled mailboxes from one Exchange server to another:

How to move archive-enabled mailboxes from one Exchange server to another
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH48928

If you have already added the new Exchange server to the Enterprise Vault Admin Console, you should start from Part III.

I hope this helps.

Dear Gabe,

Thanks for your comments.

I would summairze what we have to perform.

1. Implement the SynchInMigrationMode Registry setting with value set to 1.

2. Move user’s mailbox to the new Exchange Server (Mailboxes have been already moved).

3. Run Provisioning Task.

4. Synchronize the mailboxes in EV.
