Recalling all archived files to original location and decommissioning server

I've been searching for a while and can't seem to find good or recent documentation on what I need to do. We're getting out of the EV game and decommisioning the server. What is the best way of recalling all archived files to their original location on the file server before killing the EV server? Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hi,

You need to look at FSAUtility. this is described in the Utilities PDF.

Good luck.

You might also want to have a look on FSA-Migrator. It automates the whole process giving you a full restore with item level granularity. If something would fail with FSAUtility you would never know where exactly it failed.

I've tried using the FSAUtility with zero success. I was just wondering if there is a how-to for my specific situation of decommisioning the server.

What are the commands you have tried and errors (if any) you have received ?

I started off with a simple one to test:

C:\>FSAUtility -t -s \\fp2\it -e *.doc -l 0

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This should restore all Word filed to the IT share on our file server named FP2, correct?

The other day I was also getting this error: cannot initialize sspi package

These are great reasons to consider using a third party tool, like FSA Migrator :)
