Reg Keys for Convert RTF, PPT, Etc

EV5 / SP5. There are Reg keys for converting Word and Excel to Text rather than HTML, but is there a Reg key for converting PPT, PDF, etc to Text rather than HTML? . Something like ConvertPPTToText?

Thanks,

Aaron

Aaron,

ok - but most people would say don't convert to text unless you have a good reason to do so (for example performance issues with long delays in making the conversion).

You actually want as much in html as possible - not for viewing through EV but in case EV is not available for some reason or Symantec goes bust (ok, that's not very likely but your auditors will see it as a valid feature in product selection).

Why do you want to know, what issue are you trying to resolve?

Aaron,

have you read the KB? http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273160.htm

Is it because stuff doesn't show in AE/OWA or are you getting performance issues? Either way I think you are out of luck. :-(

By the way - think about setting the Excel to Text key. We turned it on for performance reasons.

Also remember with Archive Explorer you can configure it to open items using Outlook so the HTML isn't needed.

I do not have a problem perse, I am trying to be consistent up front and set convert to text. Other file types, lke PDF and PPT (sometimes) would seem to benefit from text conversion vs HTML. I didn't want to overlook a setting for this if one did exist. Thus far the choices are for Excel / Word / RTF. If there is no choice then so be it, just want to be sure.
