Reindexing Question

cbrowning
Level 1

Is there any difference in reliability of the results and final outcome between reindexing vaults one user at a time versus reindexing all of the indexes on a volume and just letting that run until completion?

Hello,

Why would you want to do that (re-index the lot)

To answer the question, not really, but when reindexing (I assume you mean rebuild) a volume, you risk users experiencing weird results. Some parts might still have an index (on Vol1), while other parts don't show (because index on Vol2 is rebuilding). How about journal archives? You don't really want to reindex those, unless necesary.

Doing it per (set of) users gives you better control and manageability imho.
