Reinstall Exchange Server (Mailbox Role)

Hi all,

I had a problem with an Exchange 2010 Mailbox server that I had to reinstall, I have all mailbox in a DAG environment (3 copies), so I move all the mailbox database to other server, removed the copy from the broken server an reinstall it. Now when ever I get this error:

Log Name:      Symantec Enterprise Vault
Source:        Enterprise Vault
Event ID:      3196
Task Category: Agent Client Broker
Level:         Error
Description:
An error has occurred whilst synchronizing the properties of mailbox  on Exchange server .

Error: The parameter is incorrect.  (0x80070057)

I think that I probably need to delete the old server from the EV and add again.

I can't find any thing to help me (probably I'm asking the wrong question)

Can anyone confirm this is the way to go?

I'm think I have to take this action:

Activate the database on other server, run Provisioning Task, remove server and add again the server.

Got my problem fixit (workaround) remove the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider

Value name: DS Server = full cas fqdn name.

Now going to figure out what is wrong with exchange.

This might be related to some attributes of new exchange server. Can you DTrace AgentClientBroker and ArchiveTask while synchronizing the user. Dtrace will show us which attribute has problem.

I suspect PR_ABS_HomeMTA could be the cause. Sometimes, Home MTA is not populated properly which then cause EV to fail while connecting or opening the mailbox.

Hi

I don't know how to DTrace AgentClientBroker so I Dtrace Archiving Issue and Administrative Tasks and attached them

What is the PR_ABS_HomeMTA? where can I check if it correctly populated? I run Dtrace and there are attribute errors.
