Hi All,
I have a customer that wants to restore all of his archived data back to the exchange server
During the years the end users has been deleting shortcuts from their mailboxes, while the desktop policy is set to: Shortcut Deletion - Shortcut Only
which means that the archive contains items that the user in no longer want in his mailbox.
The question is: is there any way to restore the archived data to the exchange server without the items that already does not have the shortcuts
Thanks,
Anna

In product. No.
With 3rd party, eg Archive Shuttle. Yes, kind of.

Not using the native product, no.
The export is 'all or nothing'.

Another question, how does it even possible that the user deleted shortcuts while the option "Users can delete items from their archives" is not checked in the site setting

If the option on the site settings prevents users from deleting items from their archive, then when they delete an item in Outlook, only the shortcut will be deleted, right?
I might have misundestood your original question.
Are you saying you want to restore items back to the mailbox ONLY if a shortcut exists?

Is the answer in this case is different?
Is it possible to restore items back to the mailbox ONLY if a shortcut exists?

Hi Anna, yes indeed this is possible. we are doing such projects right now an have in our past portfolio of experience. as mentioned previously, it requires a 3rd party tool.
