Retention modification with EV9 and Centera

We have a journaling retention category of 180 days. We need to reduce that to 90 days. I am guessing that our storage team and/or EMC will modify the retention value within Centera and then we mirror the same change within the EV retention policy.

Depends on whether you used Centera named retentions or let EV control retention If you are in governance/compliance mode and let EV control the retention, you cannot shorten the extension period, you can only lengthen it If you are in governance/compliance mode and used centera named refentions, you should be able to update the retentions on the centera by lowering the days, EV need not be updated as it will read the retentions used by the centera If you are not in compliance mode then you can do whatever you want as the expiry will purely be handled by EV and the items can be deleted whenever you want
