Retrieval Service is not starting

I'm using EV 5 sp7. The Retrieval Service will not start it says that "The process has attempted to access a protected memory address. Event ID: 4166.

Couple things to check:

In msmq what are the queues with items in them?

Start a dtrace of the Retrieval Service and attempt to start it again, post here and we can take a look.

I purged the enterprise vault archiving service for a5 and the service started up again.
