SAN Storage compability

Hi,

From symantec's compability chart it said:

Symantec supports archiving from Enterprise Vault to any
high-performing storage product running Windows NTFS that is accessed
using the CIFS protocol and that operates in non-WORM/non-compliance
mode.

so that pretty much translate to NAS device...SAN uses iSCSI but the compability chart didn't mention anything about incompability with iSCSI...

but I am interested in using Dell's equallogic PS6510E [a SAN device] (and not on the compability list from symantec) for the vault store and partitions...I wonder if there are others out there who have use Dell's equallogic PS6510E or similar in their EV environment, do you experience any problem with it or with using SAN storage with EV?

Thanks so much!!

Hi,

SAN drives would be directly attached to your EV server, either via FC or iSCSI, so your server will see them as NTFS volumes. From the server OS PoV, it will be seen as locally attached storage, which would work without problems.

Hope this helps
