SMTP - Journal Delay

Hello all,

EV12.3 - for Journal Mailbox archiving, there is a setting called Journal Delay, which basically makes the archiving task wait for an x-period to see if more messages with the same message id arrive, so they can be grouped.

When using SMTP archiving, this setting is not available. I assume SMTP archiving archives everything as it comes in.

does that not cause duplicates in DA searches?

You assume correctly, and yes, for messages that the mail journaler has split, SMTP archiving's inability to perform journal grouping does mean that they are archived separately, meaning many instances of the same message content with different recipient lists may appear in DA searches. The DA client's "stack similar" functionality may help mitigate the annoyance this causes to reviewers.
