Hi,
I am following this technote to create an SQL maintenance plan for my EV databases:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH74666
Problem is, the logs are shrunk by 10% (the default value recommended in the article above) and EV still reports problems with the log being utilized over 90%.
Should I increase the value to 20%?

referring to the next line on the Article, that sounds like a fair idea.
"If the amount of space being used by SQL database transaction logs does not decrease after performing the scheduled maintenance, you may need to modify the 'Shrink Database' maintenance task settings or perform the task more frequently."
If you move the free space to 20% then you are leaving a margin of space. How often do you perform this task, can it be more frequent?
do you restrict the log space?
Do you stop all EV storage services or Accelerator services during the SQL maintenance.

I run the task everyday and the space does not go below 90%. I put EV in backup mode using scripts and then run the maintenance task.
Question is, are there any repurcussions to change the setting to 20%?

I recoment you to set it 20% and i have been doing it since long time.

Hi,
Can I use that to optimize my SQL Server database maintenance plan for my EV 8.0 SP4 and SQL Server 2005 SP4 ?
