Some email have been in pending state for a very long time

I have some users that have email items that have been pending for quite some time. I am not sure how to resolve this. The archive process is running and most items archived but some just will not come out of the pending state. Any available solutions?

you have a couple options:

1. use the cancel pending option from the EV toolbar in outlook

2. modify your policy to reset pending items after x days

To add to AndrewB's comments...are these items that users are manually archived by the users or are these items that were to be archived by a scheduled run?  If they are from scheduled runs, it could be other issues such as backup failures (depending on your backup settings), and if so, review this technote to see if any of these items apply.  https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH66202

If resetting the items fails (either by canceling, or by following the 'reset pending' option), you can use DocMessageClass to change the messageclass back to 'IPM.Note'.

Use google to find docmessageclass fyi.
