Storage Expiry Rates?

Hi all,

I know there are many factors involved in storage expry, in our environment the expiry rate is anything up to 1500 items per hour.

Can anyone weigh in with what expiry rates per hour you are seeing?

Thanks,

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

Long time no see. In NL we do not, or little expiry.

My last gig was at a large bank. They turned on expiry for the Journal Archives. That expired about the same. The Journal archives were on Centera's, the indexes local. I believe you get the highest rate of expiry if there is no archiving, your sql maintenance is tip/top, and the amount of data is ' manageable'.

I did notice that the younger(i.e closer to the retention)  the items were, the faster the expiry went.

Regards. Gertjan

thats 25 items a minute, that is ridiculously slow (0.4 items per second)
it's most likely going to be SQL that is the bottleneck

Hey guys,

Yeah it has been a little while. I have moved jobs and countries. Now in the US.

I completely agree the performance is slow and SQL is more than likely the bottleneck. I am onto my DBAs asking them to monitor the DB server (thankfully dedicated to EV) and work out what they need.

Thanks,

Jeremy.

What version of EV are you using?  There were some changes around Expiry in later versions...mostly with SQL stored procedures.
