Hi everyone,
I have an employee that is missing the "Store Selected Items/Folder" under the Restore icon in their Outlook 2010 add-in. Here is the information and what I've done so far:
Windows 7 64-bit PC
Outlook 2010
I ran the ResetEVClient.exe on the PC locally, reset the Outlook profile (aka, removed it from Control Panel > Mail and re-added it), the employee logged off and back on, that still did not fix it.
Usually removing the Outlook profile and re-adding it fixes most issues when things are not showing up. I did some searches on Google and came up empty handed.
Are there any other suggestions that I can try other than clearing the Windows profile?
Thanks in advance!

So, it looks like the add-in is version 9.0.2 HTTP only. In my experience, which is not as vast as some others here, that version of the plugin does not support storing multiple items. I would upgrade then user to the 10.0.4 add-in.
(I spent significant time trying to work around the problem of the add-in failing to load and hanging Outlook, which was finally fixed in 10.0.4. In the process I noticed that the store multiple items feature was not avaialble on the 9.0.2 add-in -- which was the newest add-in that would work reliably for us -- but was available on later versions with no policy changes.)

Do you have a client log?
Does it say that the Add-in is in 'lite' or 'full' mode?
Think it needs to be full for the Store Folder option to be available.

Are you sure it is a 10.0.x version of the add-in? The store folders/selectd items option wasn't available on the 9.0.x add-in-- at least it wan't on the ones I tested.
10-04-2013 03:19 AM
FWIW ... The store folder option is only available when the Add-in is in 'full' mode, I just checked.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the lack of response on my end, I will verify that the employee does have the lite version of the add-in. I'm certain that she does due to your information that you've given me. Thanks!

Rob,
That's not what I'm seeing. My add-in is in Light mode (verfied by checking the EV properties in the backstage view), but I do see the Store Folder and Store Selected items options. This is with the latest add-in 10.0.4.1189 on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013. Both running in online mode only with no VV/VC.
10-04-2013 07:27 AM
ok, well, i am seeing different, but either way. Policy, mode and Outlook version all play a part in this. And that's the info we need to know.
10-04-2013 07:27 AM
I forgot to add that when I checked Programs and Features on the computer I only saw "Enterprise Vault HTTP-Only Outlook Add-In. We recently pushed out Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 with the 10.0.4 Outlook Add-In to be pushed out via SCCM sometime soon. I'm guessing it wouldn't do any harm in installing this on the user's PC before hand to see if that fixes the issue.

I can't see it anywhere here, but do you have a client log?
Maybe a combination of stuff is causing the option to not be available?
10-04-2013 01:40 PM
I will try to get the client log on Monday. The employee's workstation must be powered off. They work in another location too.
10-11-2013 05:42 AM
The employee is OOO until 10/22, so I won't be able to get a client log until then.
10-23-2013 08:21 AM
Sorry for the delay, but I got the log file from the employee's PC. I emitted some information due to security reasons.

I will try that out and update this post. We did push out the 10.0.4 plugin to some, but not all.

I just installed the EV Outlook Add-In 10.0.4 for the employee and it brought back that option. Thanks for all your help!

I'm glad you got it sorted.
