Strip attachments to non-shortcut items.

Hi all,

So for some reason this is disbled on our system, and our users have started to notice the size of their calendars against their quota sizes despite archiving.

So I am in the process of enabling this feature. My questions are:

1. I have not found any draw backs from web searching, does anyone know of any? I cannot think of any myself as this appears to be a mature feature.

2. Once enabled will this mean EV will go over all previous archived items, or will it only be for newly archived calendar attachments?

Thanks,

Jeremy.

The attachments won't be there on the messages.

I can't remember whether they are replaced with a link or not.

1/ I have not seen issues...  except for people who open those calendar items from things like Blackberries etc.  I mean in the end the attachments will be missing.

2/ No it doesn't do the existing ones, only future.

Hi Rob, So essentially the BB won't have access to get to the attachments? Some kind of error or no data response? Thanks for raising this I will need to discuss this within my team. Thanks for clarifying point 2. Jeremy.
