Hi All

I hope someone will help me to clear confusion.

Here's my question

We have enable Exchange 2010 Journaling and we like to archive that single mailbox.

1. Do I need to buy license for 1 Journaling mailbox only to archive that mail box on EV?

2. Do we need MS outlook (i.e MS Office) on our Enterprise vault server as Exchange server is on the other machine?

The question is for sales really, but you can find the EV licensing PDF that will describe what you can and can't do with the licenses As for outlook, yes you will need outlook installed on the EV server as this is the MAPI entry point EV uses to access the exchange mailboxes and such, for exchange 2010 only outlook 2007 SP2+ is supported

I am confused b/c I have got different answers from different suppliers and that why I posted question here

I try to explain my question further

We have assigned an email address for journaling on Exchange server and EV will archive that specific journaling mailbox. Do I need to buy license for 1000 users or do i need to buy license for journaling mailbox

Straight from the symantec licensing PDF "Total number of current Active User mailboxes to be Journaled and then archived. This is typically all or subset of all employees in the company." So if you have one journal mailbox, journalist 20,000 users, you'd need a license for twenty thousand users, not one
