Hi everyone!
We are having a hard time with the Archiving Task. First my enviorement (I didn't start it, I jus inherit):
1 Enterprise Vault
3 Exchange servers 2003 (Exch1 in one domain, Exch2 and Exch3 another domain).
We can't perform syncronization with Exch3 on any mailbox. Exch2 and Exch1 are functioning properly. When I issue a archiving task in report mode, nothing came up it's all in blank, and the task is allways running, no errors... This task used to work fine, but something has change (migrate AD to a newest vesion).
Exch2 belong to the same domain that the Exch3, but only with this last one the error occurs
Besides running a scanner deployment and DTrace, what else can we try?
In the event log Event 3310 every 10 minutes, but with the Domain that is working ok. There was a problem accessing a network service or resource. The dispenser will .......
Exhange mailbox archiving task for Exch1
Internal reference Network connectivity issues (MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR)

For server Exch3 you should have a mailbox. If logon to the EV server with the EV Vault Service Account, can you open that mailbox without error and without entering extra credentials ?

Have you tried inserting the ClosestGC reg key on the enterprise vault server

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH157743
There are 2 solutions to this issue.
Solution 1
Set a specific Global Catalog (GC) server in the Enterprise Vault Administration console.
1. Expand Enterprise Vault | Directory On.. | SiteName | Targets | Exchange | Properties of the Domain
2. Check the box to Use specific Global Catalog Server and enter a known good GC using the Fully Qualified Domain Name.
Solution 2
Apply the DS Server registry key as per Microsoft KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319206
Note: ClosestGC registry key will not work in this instance and the comments in regards Microsoft Exchange 2010 within the Microsoft article.
