Syncronising Exchange Mailboxes with the Vault Store

Not applicable

Hi All

We have recently discovered that at somepoint, our Enterprise Vault was not set to delete archived email items from the vault store when the end user deleted the shortcut to the archived item from their Outlook.

Although we now have this is now working correclty, we have found that rogue archived items remain in the vault store, for which there are no shortcuts in the end users mailbox.

Is there any way we can syncronise the current vault store with Exchange, so that the vault store can purge any items no longer in the mailboxes?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Sam

There is no way to do with the core product.  You have a few options:

  • work with a partner to accomplish that
  • recreate shortcuts for the users and let them clean it up
  • enable vault cache\virtual vault and let the users clean up the deleted items
  • users can use archive explorer the clean up the items

Since you are allowing deletions make sure you have enabled recover deleted items for the archives.
