Unable to see all mailboxes on Exchange 2007 server

Currently running EV 10.0.1 installation against Exchange 2007 servers. Have imported/migrated users from an SBS Exchange server into full Exchange 2007 server. Several previous SBS users have shown up in the archive after a synch run , several have not.

AD wise, there is no difference between the two groups of users. They all came from the same location, are all in the same AD domain. We are seeing only half the users.

Event logs do not show errors or warnings with respect to this issue.

Where should I start troubleshooting?

So first of all , if you go to the provisioning task, set it to give full reports
then run provisioning task to run in full, then go to the reports directory and open the recent provisioning report, do you see the users listed being provisioned correctly?

If you do not, then make sure your provisioning is set up to target those users (either by name, or LDAP query etc), if they are listed, then have you made sure the users have been enabled? if you try the enable mailbox wizard, do you see those users there?

Also, were the users enabled for archiving on the old SBS installation? or are they new users you wish to enable?

Good afternoon JW3..  The SBS installation was not archived. Those users were not provisioned until they were moved onto the local Exchange 2007 servers.

I'll run the reports and post the results.

Thanks.

So when you say you can't see them what exactly do you mean?  Do you mean they don't have archives or they don't show so you can enable them for archiving?

Once mailboxes are provisioned they can be enabled for archiving using the Enable Mailbox Wizard.  Or, if the provisioning group is set to Auto-enable they will be enabled when the schedule archive run occurs.

When we attempt to target the user by name (Windows user) into a provisioning group, we see no new users from the child domain.

We've run the synch task to read all mailboxes off the Exchange 2007 server, then check for new mailboxes, but nothing there, even though the user has a mailbox on the server and has used the mailbox with no issues.

Issue resolved. Possiable PEBCAK problem.

JW3, your suggestion worked. I changed the provisioning task, restarted it and started a demand run and checked the report. The user showed in the report.

When I started the Enable Mailbox Wizard, the user (and a number of others) showed, all from the SBS environment.  Looks like we are back on track.

Thanks for the help.
