Unable to vault email to a different archive

Leonardo_Fern1

When I try to manually vault an email from outlook 2007 I receive an message stating "These settings have been locked by the administrator. Click OK to store the selected items using the following settings", and then it lists my mailbox. What I am actually trying to accomplish is to vault the email to another mailbox's archive which I have full rights too. I should get a list of all the user vaults I have write access too.

I have done this countless times before, but this is the first time I have tried after upgrading to 10.0.3, so I am not sure if the probem is with my account or with the EV server.

Please see attached screenshot.

Thank you

Okay, that's not a full client trace - but I wonder:-

- Are you maybe trying to archive from a folder that has had EVPM run on it, to restrict options?

What happens if you right click on the folder and go to properties? Have you got an EV tab on the list of property tabs? If so, what does it say?

The only way that I have been able to reproduce that dialog is to try to archive something from a folder that has had EVPM run against it.. eg:

[Directory]
DirectoryComputerName = rowi01-ev-01
SiteName = evy

[Filter]
Name = FilterA
CreateShortcut = true
DeleteOriginal = true
UnreadMail = true
UseInactivityPeriod = true
InactivityUnits = days
InactivityPeriod = 3

[Mailbox]
DistinguishedName = /o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=rob58ee

[Folder]
Name = \5Years
FilterName = filterA
NonDeletable = True
RetentionCategory = Default Retention Category
OverrideArchiveLocks = true

This results in that same dialog when I try to archive something from the '5Years' folder... It's because of the OverrideArchiveLocks=True, I think.  That forces the settings which are in the .ini file.

So you have 10.0.3 on the server?

What version of the Outlook Addin do you have on the workstation?

Can you enable maximum logging in the Outlook Add-in, restart Outlook, and reproduce the problem. Then add the log file here (as an attachment)

Log is attached. I also just realized that I don't get an otion to choose an archive to manually vault too when I click the Store button in the Enterprise vault tab if I use Outlook 2010 or 2013? Can this be related?

Can you check appropriate mailbox policy & 'archiving rules' tab. If 'lock' is checked then uncheck it and synchronize the mailbox from the properties of archiving task and reopen outlook to see the changes.

@EV-Counselor - it's not that, I tried it. The only way to get that message is by archiving from an EVPM 'touched' folder.

Yes, actually, I did run EVPM on that mailbox. I guess I should zap it and archive it using the EVA default policy.

I ran the vpm script against the mailbox again but set OverrideArchiveLocks=False and that fixed the problem.

thanks
