Hi,
we run Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 on a Windows 2008 R2 Cluster environment.
Now we want to upgrade to EV 12.0.x. Before we can upgrade EV, we have to upgrade the OS.
Are there recommendations on how we can do that?
We can´t migrate the existing EV to a new server (cluster) because we don´t have an extra cluster for this.
I´ve migrated three standalone EV (VM) server without any problems and with the TECH55377, but for this method we need new hardware.

Hi,
Have you looked at the Server Settings Migration procss? http://www.veritas.com/docs/000107844

Yes, i´ve seen the migrator, but there is always the migration described in new hardware.
I can´t buy a new server, only for OS and EV upgrade.

You should be able to upgrade the OS without issue to EV, however I would have a backup of the server in case issues are encountered. You could still run the migration wizard to gather the EV configuration. As long as the OS upgrade goes without issue you should then be able to upgrade EV.

After talking with Veritas, we wil buy an additional cluster for this update.
I know the article of migrating an EV node to a new node:
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000081331
What are the additional things to do, if i move an existing windows cluster to a new windows cluster (with the same name)?
How do I get back all the clusterresources to run?
MSMQ? Failovernode? All other services?
I can´t find anything on this topic.
