Updating shortcuts after changing the 'Content of shortcut body' policy

Hi all,

Our default Exchange mailbox policy for quite some time was to use the message body in shortcuts (under the 'Shortcut Content' tab). After we found out that it consumes too much space in the mailbox, we changed it to include 80000 messaage characters instead. The problem is that we still have over-quota mailboxes because of big shortcuts that already created by the old policy.

Is there any way to apply this policy on shortcuts that already exist and show the full meassage body? We can do it manualy of course by restoring and archiving each item, is there any "batch" way to do it?

You can update shortcut body without restoring shortcut, you need to place registry ‘RestoreShortcutBody’ with value 1 and run an archiving task in report mode.

Please refer Tech note, “How to modify shortcut content without restoring archived items – RestoreShortcutBody” http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH47364

Please delete above registry from server once shortcut changes successfully as it take high resource of server & not recommended in day to day archiving operation.
