Hello,
I am getting ready to upgrade. The Symantec Upgrade documentation recommends waiting for the queues to empty. On the EV server where the journaling task is running I refresh the queues a few time and catch them where there are no items in the queues then I stop the Journal Task. When I refresh the queues again I find that there are items in J1. What is the best way to empty the queues on the EV server where the Journal Task is running?
Ref:
Before you upgrade to Enterprise Vault 9.0.3, we recommend that you allow the
MSMQ queues to empty.
Note: If you upgrade Enterprise Vault with items still on the queues, the Enterprise
Vault services may log red events the first time they start after the upgrade.
Thank you.

try putting the task in to report mode, restart the task , leave it for a bit, see if there are items still there
and if its empty, stop the task, check again to make sure no more items are there then proceed with the upgrade

Hi JW3,
I did that and waited for about 10 minutes and found that they are empty. I'll wait another 10 minutes and if they are still empty continue with the upgrade. Thank you!!
