User A sees Folders from User B in his Vault

Hi there,

strange problem here.

User A reported, that he has some foreign folders in his Vault. User B hasn't give any rights to user A.

User A can't see any mails in user B's folders, just the folder structure.

The Export Archive Wizard doesn't solve this problem. He successfully completed his work within 2 sec. without exporting any item.

What else can I try? Help is much appreciated :)

Best regards,

Daniel

Thank's, but I failed to get this managed. Our main EV admin is on vacation (of course he is ;) )

SQL DB Login for my user account is denied.

Any other options to get this solved?

Best regards

Daniel

can you login to the EV server with the vault service account?

Where exactly do the folders show?  In Archive Explorer or some other place?

Tony: The folders are shown in the archive explorer, yes.

@AndrewB: No login via service account possible. I'm using my normal admin account (which has no access rights to SQL).

So it could have been in times past User A had some rights to User B's folder or User B had anonymous or everyone granted rights on those folders.

First, verify that there aren't any rights still present on the folders on User B's folders in Outlook.

Check, no rights on the folders in Outlook to anybody.

I am suspecting the same as Tony said, from workstation, Can you please clear IE cache & ‘temporarily internet files’ (Internet options\General tab \ settings \ view files)

Then launch archive explorer again to confirm if that solve the issue.

Temp. Internet Files are automatically deleted after closing the browser. I'll do it anyway.

Thank's

Unfortunately, deleting the temp. internet files doesn't solve the problem.

do you have the service account yet so you can use permissions browser or zap the archives?

No I haven't. My colleague is still on vacation...

The problem isn't dramatic, but annoying.
