Hi
I have a single enterprise Vault server that is being migrated from EV9.x on a Windows 2003 server to EV10.x on a Windows 2008 x64 server. I want to use the migration wizard but unfortunately the DNS alias was created using an underscore in the name and so the migration wizrda fails as in the following technote.
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000015258
I'd rather not have to do a manual migration as this involves installing EV9.x on the Windows 2008 x64 server, migrating everything across manually and then upgrading to EV10.
Is it an option to change the DNS alias name of the EV9.x server to a name without an underscore, rerun the migratin wizard to create a new package, import that on the ne EV10 server and then rename the DNS alias back to the original name with the underscore back in place so the mailbox shortcuts still work?
This EV server only does email mailbox archiving and journalling for a few hundred users.....
thanks in advance

did you see this article on how to rename an EV server? http://www.veritas.com/docs/000032002

Hi Andrew
No - not that one.
I was looking at https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH179428
From what I can see the reason the migration wizard is failing is becuase the DNS alias has an underscore in it. So I just want to temporaily change the DNS alias to remove the underscore, run the migration wizard and get the EV server migrated to EV10 on the new platform and then change DNS Alias back to the original (with the underscore back in place) so when the users connect back to the upgraded server the shortcuts should still point to the correct place.
Thanks
