Vault Cache for same mailbox on laptop and PC has different number of items?

Hello,




Can someone from the forum explain how, for the same user, the number of items in his Vault Cache (8.0 SP2) for Outlook 2003 on his PC differ from his laptop?
The user has a PC and a laptop, and even after resetting both vault caches and resyncing, the number of items is different.
The Vault Cache on the laptop is missing around 800 items.

Please post a client trace of both PCs.  Attach them to the first post.

Hello Francis,

Are you using the "Maximum use of initial free space" setting on the Vault Cache tab within the Desktop Policy?  If you are, then the percentage you set will determine how much space is made availbe to VC on each machine.   If your user has less space on his laptop then the VC will be smaller and contain less items than his PC. 

If this setting is not turned on, then I would reset the VC on the offending machine.
