Vault Store Database size and row count for ACE table

Folks,

We have a large EV 9.0 Exchange e-mail and NTFS file archiving infrastructure where we constantly have problems with the SQL performance. I wonder if anyone with large instances would mind sharing the size of their Vault Store databases and the row count for their ACE table as we think that ours seem to be too large.

We have 6 EV file servers and the Vault Stores for each are between 11 and 14 TB, 15 EV e-mail servers vault stores all have less than 1 TB in their Vault Stores. Our total is about 85 TB in all Vault Stores. Our directory database is about 40GB, the e-mail Vault Store databases are about 5GB each and the file Vault Store databases are between 35-55 GB. Our ACE table has almost 283 million rows.

We would appreciate if anyone has a similar large infrastructure they would be willing to share their sizes and possibly outline what SQL hardware/software they use to service it.

yours Gavin MacKinnon

Hi Gavin,

as a starting point, have you had a look in the performance guide? There are a number of figures in there that talk about the average size of data for each SQL transaction if I remember correctly. You can find the guide here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH125795&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1295358881091

We have been through that thanks, what we are looking for is other real world examples.
