View EV domino data without EVDG or Notes? (Part 2)

 How can I have the Notes Runtime initiated? Lotus Notes is indeed installed on the EV server.

Is the Lotus Notes client 'configured' - i.e. have you opened the cleint and run through the configuration steps so it can be used as a 'normal' client with a user id?

If so, can you get a DTrace of AdminService from a service startup, as that is the first port of call for initialising a Notes API connection so it would be interesting to see if any other errors are reported in that

Hi Paul,

thanks for your immediate feedback! Yes, Lotus Notes was indeed configured. Lotus Notes does not know of a Domino server and no mail is configured, but it opens fine.

It was the restart of the services. Apparently, after the Notes client installation in July, the server and the EV services were not restarted. As an external consultant one can only preach to implement the regular OS hotfix installation process. It shows how stable EV is running though.

While starting EV, I saw the following:

I am very, very surprised about the following facts:

• I do search and view a domino mail item, I chose "view whole item" in the search and after a moment, the notes mail opens as a Microsoft Outlook E-Mail (this is the default mail client).
• In addition, I can actually add the items to a "basket" and restore my Domino search results into an Exchange mailbox.

This really looks very good and is more than I expected. Many thanks for your help!
