Virtualization of EV 10.0.4 in Failover Cluster using VMWare

Hi,

We are contemplating on a project of virtualizing the Enterprise Vault Environment.

We are working on EV 10.0.4 which is in a 3 Node Failover Cluster environment. Out of the 3, two nodes are active

Node 1: EVServer 01

Node 2: EVServer 02

Node 3: Failover Node

Resources being shared in the Failover Cluster are Enterprise Vault Services, and the Disks which are on SAN hosting the Vault Store Partitions, Index Locations and MSMQ.

We would like to know what are the precautions required and/or path to be taken to move this clustered environment from the Physical to the Virtual realm.

honestly, i dont know if it makes sense anymore once you're in VMware because if the hardware fails then VMware will move the guest to a new host.

in general, what are your concerns?

Agreed with Andy, I think clustering VM's are overkill and really don't see the benifit.
