Wildcards doesn't work in front of a word

Hello!

I've got a little problem within the EV-Search (all three searches).

I try it on EV 7.5 and 8.0.

For eg. when I search for Symantec, I've got every email with "symantec" within. It's also work with "syman*" and "sy*tec". but it doesn't work when I set the asterisk at the front, like this: "*mantec". In this case I've got only the result for the word "Mantec".

Is it a known problem? I've found no KB-Article and no Thread about that?

Kai,
if you look in the documentation or the DA Help you will see it is documented that this does not work.

You need at least 3 characters in front of the wildcard.

I know that I heard anything in this direction on the training, but I don't think of it to watch the DA-Sheets when I use the Outlook, Web or AE-Search.

It is the same behaviour for DA and EV.

Sorry, I assumed you were using DA and not the EV search tools but it is the same behaviour.  :)
