WinXP SP3- Outlook 2010: Valkyrie.dll crashes after installing an Avaya C3000 Fax and SMS Add-in in Outlook 2010

Dear Forum-Members,

at some Windows XP SP3 Clients with Outlook 2010 (32Bit - 14.0.0.6117) and EV-Addin 10.0.0.1316 the Valkyrie.dll crashes after installing an upgrade of Avaya C3000 Fax and SMS Add-ins. (Please have a look at the attached files)

Outlook disables the Valkyrie.dll because it is damaged.

This behavior is only reported by Windows XP SP 3 Clients, the Windows 7 Clients with Outlook 2010 (32Bit - 14.0.0.6117) and EV-Addin 10.0.0.1316 have no problems.

As workaround we are disabling the new SMS and Fax Add-ins, but this is only for temporarly use.

For some speacial Clients we need the WinXP installations and upgrading to Win7 is no option at this moment.

We are also in contact with Avaya Support but no usefull answers yet.

Questions:

1, Does anybody have problems with incompatibility of Add-ins in Outlook 2010 on WinXP Clients?

2, Any tips for troubleshooting?

Best Regards and Happy New Year

Benedikt

You should perhaps:

a/ Work on reproducibility.  Can you reproduce it with the Outlook Add-in and just one of the 3rd party addin's?

b/ Look at the proper version of Valkyrie.dll, ie go to the properties of it...  is it 10.0.2 ?

c/ Obtain a crash dump, and have it analysed by either Symantec, Microsoft, or the third parties -- or all of those.

Hello Benedikt.

Have you tried running ResetEVClient?

What happens if you reinstall the EV-client?
