disable credentials owa's archive explorer

I'd love to skip authentication when a logged on owa user wants to use its archive explorer. Now it's asking for fqdn credentials. Not all users know that syntax so they fail with 401 warnings. If you were to log on as user@domain it works well. Since the user is already authenticated at its owa session how could I be able to use that as well for archive explorer?

(Opening archives works well without extra authentication.)

EV 9.02.
Exchange all in one. (front and back iis etc etc) 2003 sp2.

I thought I'd had to fiddle around with iis on exchange (EnterPriseVaultProxy) Don't know what exactly.

Is this article already tackled in EV9? http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH50593 Or am I still "suffering" from this?

The initial prompt is expected behavior as explained in the technote.  Your users should be able to log in with their credentials in the Domian\User format.

No way to change it.
