Hi
We have a new EV9 architecture we will be moving users to (from EV8) and utilising the move archive utility.
As part of this migration i think we need to get the clients up to ie7 to support ev9's client as well as deploying the ev9.01 client (exchange 2010 backend) at the same time.
Can ev9.01 client go on alongside an exisiting 2007 / 8.0 client installs? Or is it advisable to remove previous client prior to deploying 9.01 http client?
If so are there any automated methods / msi switches to be aware of to remove and install ev clients silently on workstations?
thanks
James

AFAIK the client side works much in the same way as the server does, if you have ev8 client installed and run the 9 client, it will "upgrade" the client on the macjine. There will not be a coexistance.

How did you roll out the client originally? If you used GPO then you should be able to publish the new client as an update to the old one, in which case it will automatically upgrade all users/computers that have that GPO assigned. If not, then an over-the-top installation will take care of removing the old client as a part of the installation, so, as Marvin says, you won't have coexistence, just one version of the client installed

Hi
Why do you want to deploy the 9.01 client when you "just" have Outlook 2007? You do not need 9.01 if you do not have Outlook 2010.

Based on what has been said I'd agree with Michel. If you're just Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007, use the normal client .. that could be 9.0 or 9.0.1. Either of those will talk correctly to your EV 8 server.
