Did you mean:

failed server entry exists on evault server console , can not remove

Hi

we have an entry on evault server console  called "evserver2"   , this was added automatically during evault install .

That server "evserver2" has failed during install and we no longer need it as we did a migration from 32 Bit evault 9.2 to  64 bit 9.2  and kept same name etc .

problem now is that entry shows in the console and is generating too many dcom errors on event viewer .

we tried "right click , delete from console" but we keep getting anj error stating that entry can not be deleted as services exists . when we try to delete services we are not able to delete as it can not connect .

How can we delete this entry for the failed server ? if we have to remove from the database what are the steps or entry in database ?

Thanks

Have you removed everything else associated with that old EV server?  You need to do that first.

If you can't do it cleanly from the Admin Console you can refer to Wayne's post here:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/delete-non-existing-enterprise-vault-server

I would HIGHLY recommend putting EV in backup mode and backing up the SQL databases first.
