Hi,
After upgrading a customer from version 10.0.4 to 11.0.1 and installing the new client on the customer machine the following happens:
1. in EV ribbon - when pressing "search vault" button - search opens in new IE page and not inside the outlook window.
2. the search page that opens is the old search.asp page, when i remove the .asp from the address, new new search appears and all searches are working, but it wont open as the default search page.
Anyone seen this before?
how can I force the search page to:
1. open inside outlook
2. open the new search page.
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
When you upgrade EV from 10.x to 11.x, all users still have access to the legacy EV search. You can enable the new search per user or enable it for everybody from the Site settings:
Upgrading an Enterprise Vault site to use Enterprise Vault Search
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO109350
To open the search inside Outlook, check the Desktop policy > Outlook settings > Search behavior and verify that is set to 'In Outlook'.
I hope this helps.

Hi Gabe,
Thanks! this is very helpfull!
I thought that the new search will be set automatically since in a new ev 11 installation the new search is the default.
Good to learn something new :)

You're welcome Sarah. Also, take a look at this HOWTO. You will find all the steps to setup the EV search per users:
About Enterprise Vault Search
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO109406
1. Define one or more search policies to specify the range of Enterprise Vault Search facilities that you want to make available to users.
2. Set up one or more search provisioning groups to identify the targets (users and user groups) to whom you want to assign a search policy.
3. Create and configure one or more Client Access Provisioning tasks to apply the required search policies to the targets of the provisioning groups.
