Hi,
We have installed Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 on a Windows 2008R2 x64 server. Archiving is working well but when we open the Archive Explorer on a Windows 8.1 / Outlook 2010 PC we cannot see the "Sent Items" . We only see "Inbox" and its subfolders , if any, under the archived mailbox. The archived sent items can easily found by search.
Can anybody help on this ?
Thanks

Very likely to just be an internet explorer caching issue. Try clearing your IE cache and/or 'Refresh' at the top level of Archive Explorer.

You may refer the following document
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH52763
This issue ideally is noticed when an root identity for any folder in the mailbox is assigned NULL. Ideally Only Top of Information store should have its root identy vaule as Null.

Thank you JesusWept3 for your reply,
This mailbox is the users primary mailbox. I'm attaching the first screenshot for the user's mailbox. There are two sent items archived. The second is the search results for one of the two archived mails.

Hi Stratos,
What version of Internet Explorer are you using in this client? If you are using Internet Explorer 11, that might explain this behavior. Can you reproduce this issue in another client with IE 8 or 9?

Hi GabeV,
Yes, I've IE 11 on one PC but there is another PC that is experiencing the same problem with IE 10.
Thanks

Do you have Compatibility View enabled on IE 10?

Hi RahulG,
Thank you for your reply. No strange things in EnterpriseVaultDirectory database. Everything in there is as expected.

GabeV,
No, we don't. But the problem seems to be on the outlook client (and the EV add-in maybe) because when we click Enterprise Vault - > Archive Vault we see nothing but the Inbox under the archived mailbox. I've checked the EnterpriseVaultDirecory database (article id TECH52763) and everything seems to be OK in there.

What about in Virtual Vault - what does that look like?
If you haven't got enabled try the following:
http://nameofevserver/enterprisevault/GetArchiveFolderHierarchy.aspx?archiveid=ID
Note: The Enterprise Vault server name should be used in place of 'nameofevserver' Note: The Archive ID for the archive should be used at the end of the query. This can be obtained from the 'Advanced tab' on the properties of the archive in the Vault Admin Console.
Example output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <MDCSyncResponse msg="SUCCESS" hr="0"> <GetArchiveFolderHierarchyResponse> <Folders> <Folder VaultEntryId="1D15BA475D5777B45876FF40DE5B116201110000rowi01-ev-01.rowiev.local" FolderName="Top of Information Store" RetentionCategoryID="1C3DDDEF78408D0498638C10229B7C4831b10000rowi01-ev-01.rowiev.local" IsManaged="0" Deleted="0" IsDeletable="1" ExistsInMbx="1" FolderIcon="0"> <Folder VaultEntryId="1B0EBD53A1B98544F8EFB11C7C6075D3E1110000rowi01-ev-01.rowiev.local" FolderName="Inbox" IsManaged="0" Deleted="0" IsDeletable="1" ExistsInMbx="1" FolderIcon="1"/></Folder> </Folders> </GetArchiveFolderHierarchyResponse> </MDCSyncResponse> |

Archive Vault? You meant Archive Explorer, right? When you click in Archive Explorer in Outlook, that's a Internet Explorer window inside the Outlook client. Try to open Archvie Explorer directly from the IE 10 browser http://<your-ev-server>/EnterpriseVault/ArchiveExplorerUI.asp and see if you have the same issue. If so, enable compatibility mode and verify if you get the Sent Items folder.

With IE11, the Archive Explorer diplays the folders correctly !!
