unable to search for archive using DA Client

Hi,

When I login as evadmin on an XP Machine, it show connected to the database.

I can see two vault store, sunev and Journal vaultstore.

In the Monitor Tab, when I click Search with the subject "Test", nothing was display.

What is wrong with the search?

Hi,

I also create a new case (Under Cases).

In the Subject Name, I indicate "Test'
Status is "Open"

The Owner selected is Evadmin.

I also cannot save as it indicates "1 error".

What is wrong with new created Cases.

When you created the cases did you select the vaults it can search against?

If you are using DA 8. Open the client. click on cases on the top menu

Select the case you want to work with on the left side menu

Next select properties (this can be found in the right side window at the top

Scroll down and you will see the list of vaults. Select the vaults you want the searches in this case to search against and click on Save

now run a search in this case and see if you get a result

There is no such thing as "Vault" anymore....... either Vault Store or Archive

The Monitor tab will only show the status of a search.  It won't show the results.

In order to see a preview of the results, you need to go to the Case tab, and then the 'Searches' tab below it.  From there, you should see the search status at the right, and a tab toward the bottom should allow you to preview any results.

With regards to the case you're tryin to create, you need to identify where the error is at.  Is there any field that you can see where there's a red exclamation point?

Hi,

The error is due to the fact that I did not select the vault store. After i select the vault store e.g journal vault and xx vaultstore,  I'm still unable to search.

The message ( 5 message is display)  is in the journal archive if i select  e.g http://localhost\enterprisevault

 
 
1) Create a new case with a name say    job
2)Select Vault Store e.g journal Store and sml vault store
3)Save Changes
4)Enable Analytic
5) Under the Case tab-> Select new search
 
Under Search
Context : Job
Name : Job
Based on search <No Template>
Search Type : Immediate ( Automatically accept search results and include items already)
in review are change.
Date Range : Last 28 days
I've click refresh many times but it does not show the result.

There is no hit ( 0) to be exact :)

What is wrong with the configuration? Can someone show me a simple step to get this moving.




I try to upload the screen shot  from my desktop but there is no " ok" button for me to upload

Try the same search with no date settings
Are you sure the data you are searching for is in the archive

Are there any errors in the event log on the DA server


Why are you enabling Analytics when you have no search results to analyze

Hi,

Yes, the data I'm search is in the archive. I have confirmed this by using search explorer. 

By unchcking the seach  immediatley and checking again, this does means, the search is immediately activated and I should click refresh?

I have enabled analystics becuase i thought it would search for the data. 

 
 by the way, I try to attached to upload the image file and it seem there is no OK buton for me to upload

On the search page in the bottom right hand corner are you clicking Save?
