why upgrade to Enterprise client 8.0 ?

Hello,

I'm running an Exchange server 2003 with sp2 installed and we are using the Vault 8.0. We will be upgrading to Exchange 2007 in the very near future. All of the clients computers are running office 2003 with SP installed. We will not upgrade to Office 2007 this year.

Symantec recommends that I install the Vault Client 8.0. All clients except for me have the previous version and they all work well.

My question is do I have to upgrade to version 8.0 on all outlook client machines? If I do why do I have to? I mean it is working now. Will the previous client not work with Exchange 2007?

clarification is much appreciated.

Alexis,

The EV 2k7 client will work fine with EV 8.0 server and there is no hurry to upgrade.  On the flip side the EV 8.0 client will add support for Virtual Cache which is a nice improvement over Offline Vault.  It also has better support for rpc over http.

If either of these two features are in use I would recommend upgrading sooner than later.
