Our company has 1 Symantec corporate 10.1 primary server in our RO and 37 secondary servers all distributed in different state via 64kbps leased line. I have a problem that all servers dont appear. Some server always be in disabled state even if it is pinging. Yes! one more issue I reinstalled a Secondary server and try to add in primary , immedeately after connection it gone to Down state and it dont take updation from primary. So that the clients are not updating. Pls help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure you have copied the certificate of primary server to all the secondory server.
This will establish the communication between servers. Then only you can issue any command onto secondary servers.
If a 64Kbps line response from secondary servers will be always slow....
Secondary servers have to download 50MB updates. In 64Kkbps link updation will be slow.
Its better to move all the clients to one server. Since all the clients will be under one server and gets incremental updates it wont load the network.
(You can use this link to configure update clients by net or subnet. This will reduce the network traffic for one branch
You can also change the number of virus definition (.vdb) files that a Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition server keeps
If the pc is not used for more that 7 days it downloads full update. If you set num of vdb to 20 it can provide microdefs even if the clients check in before 20 days. This reduces the total size of the updates for one pc.
