Infoscale (eval) on CentOS 7.1?

https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/vstore/7.0/linux/productguides/html/infoscale_notes/ch07s... mentions only RHEL, not CentOS. Fair enough.

But I'm just trying to install VxVM on my desktop VM (VMware Workstation 12) before I get access to physical environment, so I'd like to know if CentOS can or cannot be used (although it's not supported).

At the moment I get this on CentOS 7.1:

[root@vxvm1 ~]# cd infoscale7.0/
[root@vxvm1 infoscale7.0]# ./installer
CPI ERROR V-9-0-0

0 No padv object defined for padv CentOS3x8664 for system vxvm1

[root@vxvm1 infoscale7.0]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)

These error messages have some room for improvement... What does "padv" mean in the first place? (Actually, I don't want to know - I'd only like to know if it makes sense to troubleshoot this or should I give up on CentOS).

For both RHEL and CentOS, the above link gives very precise package versions, but there's mention of kernel version. Can any 7.1 kernel version be used, or is this an omission which will cause problems later?

Anyone aware of textual (non-PDF or non-video) install walk through so that I don't have to copy RPM version names from HTML tables and PDF files?

If it is not supported, it cannot be used.

Compatibility Guides can be found here: https://sort.veritas.com/documents

Some documentation is available in html as well as pdf format.

I have not seen any other versions of the product guides.

CentOS is not supported, there is only one free practical replacement for RHEL which is supported and it's Oracle Linux in the RHEL compatibility mode (not the UEK kernel)
