The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is set to take effect in May 2018.  Government agencies are under pressure to ensure timely and cost-effective responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MIFIDII) is gaining momentum in the financial sector.  Personal data privacy is a global problem and managing it effectively is gaining momentum across all geographies. This is where the eDiscovery Platform 9.0 can help by streamlining the Subject Access Request (SAR) process.

• Addressing data privacy and compliance with classification: The eDiscovery Platform 9.0 now provides over 50 default policies and 100 patterns to ensure customers have broad coverage against current and emerging regulations.

• Enhanced classification: In addition to the included policies, customers can build their own policy rules to assist in a wide range of workflows by automatically identifying matching content as it is processed into the eDiscovery Platform.

• Streamlined redaction: Part of any response for information will include the need to black out or redact sensitive information. This can be performed in a single bulk operation across all data in your dataset rather than a time consuming document to document approach.

• Preset redaction codes and annotations: Many organizations and some regulations will have a standard set of reasons for redacting data. The eDiscovery Platform 9.0 assists by allowing a pre-defined list of codes to be created for the review team to use. In addition, sometimes content needs to be added to a document – a comment or a stamp for example. This can also be achieved through the introduction of the annotation toolkit.

• Leveraging the cloud: For those looking for a cloud solution but as a fully managed offering, our partner Bluesource hosts EV (EV247) and the eDP (EDP247) in Azure and offers proactive maintenance and management.

• Performance: User interface performance updates have been applied to ensure that as a customers environment grows, the platform remains responsive to ensure the case turnaround times can be met.

• Resilience: eDiscovery systems work with a very diverse set of data types and the data is not always clean and easy to work with. The eDiscovery Platform needs to be resilient to handle that, and this release adds enhancements to ensure a smooth end-to-end experience for processing through export of data.

The eDiscovery Platform 9.0 will be generally available on the 22nd of December.
