I recall, a year ago, a renowned and respected General tweeted that it was impossible to review 650,000 emails in 8 days.

I disagree! Humbly but strongly, I would say, he was wrong (I am not talking about the politics part, I am just talking about technical abilities to review emails). Yes, it is possible to easily review 650,000 (or even much more) emails in 8 days, by using a good eDiscovery software tool and that’s where Veritas’ eDiscovery Platform comes in. So, why Veritas eDiscovery Platform? The simple answer to this question is – because our eDiscovery Platform discovers “mindfully”. Yeah, literally mindfully, simply being aware of what is happening and understanding what it is doing, our platform is intelligent and can learn.

Digital Jungle

Today, we live in digital jungle and we’re surrounded by exponential amounts of data. Every day we produce enormous data by sending emails, using social media, engaging in online chats and taking pictures and videos. We all use computers, the Internet, intranets and mobile devices extensively. Machines too are generating and keeping more and more data by sending automatic notifications and creating log files of every event we process online. All these things lead to the exponential growth of digital data.

Did you know that electronically stored information (ESI), including structured or unstructured data, can be required in litigation or other investigations (internal/external)? A person can be held responsible for everything he or she “digitalize” publicly. That’s why someone said rightly today what does “e” in email stand for? It stands for “evidence”.

Today every organization is highly susceptible to litigation for false claims, patent infringements, data theft, anti-competitive behavior, unlawful price fixing and promotion, illegal distribution and a new tendency toward mass litigation. Law regulating authorities and courts have increasingly adopted the use of ESI in legal procedures. From identification of data and legal hold and then through review and production, without the right tools, electronic discovery can be a complex, expensive and challenging process. If not presented appropriately, electronically shared information can not only be a challenge for attorneys and paralegals but also of little or no use.

4 Powerful Features of eDiscovery Platform

1) Effective ‘Legal Holds Management’

Legal hold is one of the critical functions that allows an administrator to select potential custodian, send customized notifications for legal holds and track their responses. It has a beautiful interface to manage reminders, escalations, custodian survey, their responses and generate reports based on it.

2) Powerful ‘Identification and Collection’

Our eDiscovery Platform provides the ability to collect data from across the enterprise using data sources like Enterprise Vault, SharePoint, Exchange, network, on-site, Office 365, desktops and laptops. The beauty is that our eDiscovery Platform provides one seamless application that preserves data integrity and the chain of custody across the entire eDiscovery lifecycle, quickly allows data to be available for early case assessments and review and enables a truly iterative eDiscovery workflow. It allows the creation of copies of data from these data sources, grouped into collections tasks, sets and make it easy to move the data through processing and analysis. It provides a complete portfolio of analytical charts and tables that offer real-time visibility into the status of the collection.

3) Simple, Clean, Efficient ‘Processing and Analysis’

eDiscovery Platform intelligently filters and processes the dataset in hours even for millions of documents. Once processed, customers can analyse data and gain insight into data facts immediately. Along with many stages of processing, it includes extremely powerful mechanism of deduplication that uses highly efficient modern algorithms to dedupe the data and increases the overall efficiency.

4) Self-Explanatory and Intuitive ‘Review and Production’

eDiscovery Platform provides a heap of utilities for transparent searches and comprehensible reviewing of processed data to enhance the ability to cull irrelevant information, like keyword search, concept search, various filter based searches, Boolean, stemming, wildcard, fuzzy and proximity searches.

The platform allows the display of documents in a near-native format without requiring each application to be loaded on a reviewer’s workstation. It provides utilities like redaction, transparent predictive coding, find similar relevant documents, tagging, load file imports and much more.

Just to conclude, I can say Veritas eDiscovery Platform 9.0 is the perfect platform for all your eDiscovery needs. If you’re a current customer don’t forget to download the latest version and for new customers wanting more information please visit our production documentation here.
